Lockdown 4.0 and an iOS 14 update finally gave me the ability (and willpower) to customise my iPhone and make it feel completely mine.
So like, how?
iOS 14 and the magical Shortcuts app let you open an app (or a link) with a bookmark that basically looks like any app tile. And since you're able to choose the icon that displays, you can effectively replace all of your icons with custom ones – with a bit of patience. You can also use this to link directly to pages or areas within an app to get even more custom!
The toolkit
I did all of my illustrations in Procreate, then Airdropped them to my iPhone. Then I created all of my bookmarks in Shortcuts.

I originally wanted to just buy an icon pack, but nothing quite suited my wants.

I found this set of iPhone icons on Etsy and really loved the look – and the illustration style isn't too far from my own! I toyed around with some other colour palettes, but eventually decided that I was too in love with this original one. (I won't ever be selling my set, so if you like the look then check her out!)

The lock screen
I found a quote I liked and just quickly doodled it to match the rest!
I was quite tired by this point so didn't spend much time on this – I expect to come back and update it when I can think of something I'd prefer.
